Hearts Full, Gloves Ready: Hart 11U Shines in Memorial Weekend Debut
This Memorial Day weekend, a team of 11-year-old standouts from the William S. Hart Baseball program packed up their gloves, bats, and big dreams—and headed to Orange County for their very first tournament as a team.
Representing the best of Santa Clarita, the Hart 11U squad brought heart, hustle, and head-turning teamwork to the field. Over the course of three sun-soaked days, they played five games that tested their skills, deepened their bond, and showed exactly what they’re made of.
It started with pool play, where seeding was on the line. Hart 11U came out swinging, earning a forfeit win over Whittier Pony Quakes, then dominating East Long Beach 11-2, and shutting out the Los Alamitos All Stars 10-0—securing the #1 seed heading into Monday’s single elimination.
In the semi-final, they battled hard and held off East Long Beach once again with a 2-1 victory, punching their ticket to the championship game.
The final matchup brought them face-to-face with a tough Walnut Legendz team from the opposite bracket. With phenomenal defense and grit to the final out, Hart 11U gave it everything they had before falling 10-1 and finishing second overall.
But the weekend was about more than just scores—it was about clutch catches, team chants, brotherhood, and firsts. First tourney. First championship game. First chance to show the world what this team is capable of.
Way to go, boys. Keep up the Heart & Hustle!
